    thanks townsbg, at least i have a start now, if it carries on i am thinking of formating the drive and re-installing windows to see if that will be a fix

    The dump reports you posted are all over the place, kernel, Nvida, NTFS, HAL. There may be a common point but I don't know what it is.

    I think townsbg's idea about reinstalling XP is the way to go. You could try a Repair Install first to see if that helps and if not, do a Clean Install.

    What makes me think that this is the best call is that all of the files listed in the errors (with the exception of your graphics driver) are operating system level drivers and programs. With the exception of a corrupted registry it really doesn't get much worse. You're problem isn't likely to go away if what we have done hasn't helped. You can try a repair but I've never really had a repair work. The clean install should work unless you have hardware problems. Be sure to back up your files or you will lose them.
