Well, I took my poor old machine to a "guy" who does the formatting. The format option on the c drive would not allow me to access it. I hadn't thought of command prompt in time. Anyway, I am back in action - faster, all my c drive available - I was down to only 55 gb out of 142. So thanks, all. :
