My daughter was down today and she, too, went over and tried everything, but said that Windows needs to be reinstalled. She did find us a way to get onto the internet, though. If you go to Control Panel, and type in a website into that address bar, it will take you to sites, but it wouldn't let us download adobe and other things, or AVG. The guy is supposed to come out to do the fix or change computers next week, so I think I'm probably going to have to let it go. I WILL try what you suggested though. What have I got to lose?

Thanks so much for all the info. I'm learning things, too. I had four women in there talking around me as I was trying to do stuff...not easy!
