    Download, install, and run Everest Home Edition (CLEAN FreeWare) on this machine. Once it's finished loading and running, look under;

    MOTHERBOARD
    Post what is listed for your Motherboard (make/model) and the Motherboard Chipset description.

    Multimedia, or, under Multimedia, PCI / PnP Audio. This will tell you what sound devices you have available on your system.

    Post that information exactly as presented by the program.

    I just tried downloading the Crystal driver Dan gave the link to and it's a .exe, not a .zip:

    C5mua09i.exe

    Not sure where you got the zip file from.

    If the downloaded C5mua09i.exe file doesn't fix the problem (restart the machine to be sure);

    What you posted doesn't really give me the information I require, so lets go this way,,,,,

    Open Everest Home Edition. Click the + sign next to;

    Motherboard
    Click on Chipset. Post the information listed under North Bridge exactly as it is listed.

    Multimedia
    Post the information listed under PCI / PnP Audio exactly as it is listed.

    The only information I got from what you posted was;

    the North Bridge info, and 256MB of RAM installed. The RAM installed is very low by todays standards.

    Please post the remainder of what I asked you for;

    Run EVEREST and post the info under;

    Multimedia
    Post the information listed under PCI / PnP Audio exactly as it is listed.[/COLOR]
