    Screen Resolution?

    Hi,
I've managed to re-install windows XP. But I cannot change the screen resolution. Have been to control panel, but cannot operate the drag slidder to alter the res.
In the device manager page, the section which says 'other devices'; Ethernet Controller, multimedia Audio Controller,PCI Modem, SM Bus Controller,Video Controller (VGA Compatible). These all have exclamation marks super-imposed over them. And when I right-click over them individually, it seems to say, that they have not been installed.

If anyone can help, it'll be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Folks,
After downloading a driver for screen resolution, I've sorted that. But I've now noticed there's no volume/speaker icon on the bottom of the screen.

Have you installed the audio drivers for that board too? If you have and it is still not there, check in Control Panel, the applet should be there. Then see if there's an option to put the icon in the tray.

    Hi,
just managed to install audio driver. Not sure what to do with the other missing drivers i.e. PCI modem, SM Bus Controller and the ethernet controller? Will these be installed when I use the cd's for internet connections etc?

No, you need to go to the computer manufacturer's web site, download/support area and download the necessary drivers.

If you provide the make and model number I may be able to help.
