Hi,
I'm trying to format my friends HD. He has the original operating disc, but I don't know how to format the HD. He has nothing on the computer he wishes to keep, so wiping it isn't a problem. The main reason he wants to clear everything is because he has the Blue screen showing. Which at the moment doesn't allow me to access anything on the deck top, as the screen appears after about twenty seconds.

If anyone can offer assistance, feel free to chip in.

although, now I have another problem. XP seems to have installed, but now, it won't let me adjust the screen resolution using the slider in the control panel!

You probably need to install the right driver for it.

Go to the manufacturers web site, Supporty area and download the Windows 7 video driver. If there is none, see if there is a Vista driver. If not then you can try the video (display adapter) manufacturers web site and get the Win 7 driver there.

You may have similar problems with other devicers, though Windows 7 has the best built in driver set available to date.
