    Headxxxxx

Ive just gone through days of work on the (Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs) forums, yes coputer is clean, still freezing etc.
Example 1; If I am downloading wallpapers, pictures or dvd covers, when I click on save computer freezes for about 15 mins, eventually comes back until I try to save again.
Example 2: Not on internet, say burning a disc and trying to open another program computer can freeze for hours, sometimes leaving only a black screen.
Any suggestions or is it time for a new box.

Apologies for the delay is responce. If your machine has been "cleared" by our Spyware etc Staff, it would appear the problem lies with the O/S (Operating System).

The first thing to do is run a file check on the O/S.

If you have an XP CD:
    Click START, RUN, type in:

    sfc /purgecache

(This ensures that system files are copied from your Windows installation media, and files which may be infected/damaged with malware, or are corrupted, are not copied from your drive. Some of the files which are restored/replaced may need MS Updates applied. If sfc replaces any such files, you will have to reinstall updates for those files. (If you have Automatic Updates active, this will happen automatically.))

    Then type in:

    sfc /scannow

    Have your XP CD handy.

If you do not have an XP CD:
    Click START, RUN, type in:

    sfc /scannow

    Post back with your results.
