    System 32 at Start Up

How come everytime I load up my computer, once it reaches the desktop it automatically opens a folder called 'System 32'. Its really irritating, how do I stop it from doing that? I use XP Pro by the way.

Hello mr_film & welcome to the D-A-L forums. To fix your problem please cick HERE and scroll down to line 260. In the right column you will see System32 Folder Opens Upon Boot. Double click the entry and save it to your desktop. Now right click the file and choose merge. When you get a message asking are you sure click yes. Now restart your computer and see if your problem is resolved, please let us know if we have helped.

    Just open it.

To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double
click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.

NOTE: If your anti-virus software warns you of a "malicious" script, this is normal if you have "Script Safe" or similar technology enabled. These scripts are not malicious, but they do make changes to the System Registry.

I also can't get the merge method to work. When I try to open the file it says: "This script can not repair your issue. The expected Regirsty values was not found."

    Any further ideas?

Manually search for the startup location & delete:

To repair your registry go to start/run/ sfc /scannow
You will need your XP CD to do this.
