I've just recently had problems with my laptop not starting properly; it gets to the windows logo with the loading bar beneath and then blue screens for a fraction of a second before turning itself off. The only way around this has been to start it in safe mode, but what should I do to be able to start it properly again?
Hi paddb81 Welcome to D-A-L
When you start in safe mode Right click on My Computer and select Properties
In that window select Advanced tab.
Now go Startup and Recovery click on the Settings button.
Now remove the Tick from Automatically restart.
Now restart your PC.
On restart you will get the blue screen (your PC halt on that screen) called a BSOD(Blue Screen of Death).
This is the error message we need to help diagnose your problem.
Make a note of the full details of that message (I know it a long message). Now shut down your PC
by pressing and holding down (don't press too hard) the start button on your PC.
Could you now post that error message here so we can advise you what to do next
You will still be able to start your PC in safe mode just as before if you do this.
