Netgear WPN 111 Wireless USB adapter
I am having fun and games with a Netgear WPN 111 wireless USB adapter which was previously working ok with XP SP3. I recently reinstalled Windows XP (which comes with Service Pack 1). I load the latest Netgear software (v3) and the adapter is recognised and connects to the internet (as before). After a few minutes the connection drops. The Netgear Smart Wizard Wireless Assistant still shows the Network Name (SSID) and is scanning but unable to reconnect.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software with v1, v2, v3 several times but to no avail.
Also in the time I did have a connection, I managed to download and install 60 security (etc) updates from Microsoft Update.
Any help gratefully received!

I had the same problem. My problem was that the connection almost never worked, even though the software still said that it was connected. I wiped everything and reinstalled Windows XP. I installed the software again and had no problems.

Have you also reinstalled SP3? Since it worked with that configuration before, it would be a good idea to try it again.

Many thanks for the replies, guys. SP3 reinstalled and seems to have done the trick!
