    DDR to DDR2

    ok i have
    windows xp
    home edition
    version 2002
    service pack3

    celeron(R) CPU 2.00 GHz
1.99 GHz 256 MB of ram

and its a DDR memory it has a 256 stick
i can only upgrade to 2x 512MB sticks and it is CPI not CPI-E
i wanna swap my motherboard with DDR2 so i can get more ram and upgrade to other things for better gaming
i choose a mother board in those links but dont know if it would hook up

    CPU
$65 AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3.0GHz (Great budget dual-core for gaming and just about anything you can throw at it. If you're game for spending a bit over your proposed budget, go for the AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE.)

    GPU
$140 XFX Radeon HD 5750 1GB (Amazing budget card... This'll play modern titles like mw2, l4d2, and fallout 3. Also, all of XFX's products have a double lifetime warranty.)

    RAM
    $105 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB DDR3

    MOBO
    $75 GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 ATX Motherboard

    HDD
$48 Western Digital Caviar Blue 320 GB

    PSU
$89 COOLER MASTER Silent Pro 600 (Modular, 80+, and 600W for under 100$.)

    Hi clay109 Welcome to D-A-L

    The RAM
$105 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB DDR3 will NOT work on this Mboard
    GA-MA770-UD3 (rev. 1.0) - GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Specification
It only supports DDR2 1200(Note 2)/1066/800/667 MHz memory modules

You don't say what Case you are using so make sure it's a
    ATX Form Factor; 30.5cm x 21.0cm
Otherwise it you will have problems fitting the Mboard.
Other wise everything else should be OK.
    What OS are you using?
If its the one with your present PC make sure the OS is its not OEM.
If it is OEM you could have problems using it on this set-up.
