Okay so lately i havent been able to download any software off the internet whether it be limewire, msn, skype, etc... I've tried to download all these and more. If u need more info then im giving u please ask. Im not very tech savy, but i do know basic stuff. I really appreciate ur time, and than u very much.

Could you give us some example of what you are trying to download say from MSN and
do you get any error message when the download fails.
Can you can surf the net and go to any web page of your choosing.
Or do you have problems load web pages as well.

Im trying to download an im software.
I can go to any page but some wont load all the way.
And when i try to save the file it says it canceled instantly. So i download it again and it downloads, but it wont allow me to open it.

What browser are you using? Have you tried any others?

This problem could be related to viruses so I suggest that you read this & post another thread here.

I agree with townsbg.
This problem could be related to viruses and it would be best to rule it out.

Im using firefox as my internet browser, and i have not tried any others.

I went to the link u suggested and tried to download the anti-virus programs. I wasn't able to just like with any other program i want to install. It shows a pop up that says to save the file i click save and it instantly says that the download was canceled. So from the download pop up i right click, retry and it downloads it no problem. Once it finishes i try to open it and I am not able to click the open selection, and it does not show up anywhere on my computer. Even after i've searched for it. Im going to try and see if explorer works. Thanks for the help so far I really appreciate it.

So just keeping u up dated i tried downloading on internet explorer and it showed a pop up saying "your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded." Might this be a security settings issue?

you should already have IE installed. You can also try safe mode as that should prevent any viruses from running. Awfully suspicious activity. what you really need to do is to install hijackthis and have it run a scan of your computer as instructed and post the log in your first post. You should not make your first post here.

I've tried a few times to download hijack this on both IE, which i have had installed, and firefox. On firefox it has issues as it does with every other program i want to install, and on IE it wont let me.
