    Win XP 0x7e error

    Hi
I have a Dell Inspiron 6400, a 2007 model, which is giving me the BSOD. I am also attaching the screen shot here (the cut off words in the top right corner of the image are "prevent damage").

    - Safe mode is not working.
    - Safe mode with command prompt is not working.
    - I have tried using the Recovery Console but as you might know Sigverif.exe is not working in the recovery console.
    - As you can see from the screen shot no specific drivers have been identified as interfering with the boot.
    - The BIOS version is A17 and it is the latest one.

A bit of history. Win XP was reinstalled recently and the drive was reformatted.
I am happy to reformat and reinstall Win XP but I need to know what the problem is as I want to avoid this situation from coming up again.

One additional question - when Win XP was reinstalled the last time, the latest drivers were downloaded from the internet as opposed to being installed from the original manufacturer's CD. Could this have caused the problem?

Please let me know if you have any ideas.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

Reinstall with the original drivers since that seems to be the only thing you've changed.

    (Is your laptop really yellow?)

Where did you download the drivers from? Hopefully the Dell web site.

Also, see Method 5: Remove all third-party drivers as a possible work around to get the system booting again.
