    Exclamation RAM Upgrade Desired

    My motherboard: Trigem imperial/glendale
    Field Value
    Motherboard Properties
    Motherboard ID 31511.EM.0000.D.0102120916
    Motherboard Name Trigem Emachines

    Front Side Bus Properties
    Bus Type Intel GTL+
    Bus Width 64-bit
    Real Clock 67 MHz
    Effective Clock 67 MHz
    Bandwidth 533 MB/s

    Chipset Bus Properties
    Bus Type Intel Hub Interface
    Bus Width 8-bit

I am currently operating with 384mb RAM. I really want to upgrade to 512mb or more. Is this possible? IO have 2 slots, one with 128mb and one with 256mb. I don't think this motherboard was installed by the manufacturer (etower 733i) but rather was an upgrade. I bought it used. With 384mb it is stable but not enough to do some things I desire to do. os: windows xp.

It would help if we knew the exact Trigem model number. As seen here, there are several Trigem Imperial motherboards. With the correct model number, we might be able to find a manual, or official specifications.

Below is my canned text on buying new RAM. I recommend you run through the list and select those "ram wizards" that automatically scan your system and see if they suggest the same type memory. With XP and single core CPUs, 1Gb (2 x 512) will yield significant performance gains. This is especially true if you are currently running with on-board graphics. Since you already know your board supports 1 256Mb module, it will support 2 for 512 - which is better than what you have, but 1 Gb would be better.
These popular RAM makers have auto-scanning and/or manual entry RAM wizards to help you determine which RAM is compatible with your motherboard. For manual entry, enter/select the PC or motherboard make and model number and the wizard will list compatible RAM.
    Crucial - Memory Advisor
Corsair - Memory Configurator (manual data entry only)
GeIL - Memory Configurator (manual data entry only)
Kingston - Memory Search (manual data entry only)
    Mushkin - Advisor
OCZ - Memory Configurator (manual data entry only)
Patriot - Memory Search (manual data entry only)
PNY - Memory Configurator (manual data entry only)
SuperTalent - Memory Finder (manual data entry only)
The following retailers have auto-scanners and manual wizards. They sell brand name and/or "house" brand (re-branded) RAM.
Newegg - Memory Configurator System Tool
    MemoryStock - Upgrade Configurator
    18004Memory – Configurator
4AllMemory - Memory advisor (automatic and manual)
TigerDirect - Memory Configurator (manual data entry only)

How do I obtain the model number of my motherboard?

That may be difficult - especially with OEM boards. You can open the case and look for a label printed on the board. You can try, Belarc Advisor too.

Actually I dont know if it is an "Imperial" Motherboard, as depicted in your link above. The Numbers I was able to access on the motherboard are:
    S/N (1) 30007 210 00790
    Cognac: Mot# 115661
    Cognac 20000731

I performed a MemTest but since I did not know what I was looking for...I don't know what to post on that. When completed it said "No errors". What SHOULD I have looked for?

    ===========================================
Belarc is no help. I can post it here if you need it.
How do I assess the info on the motherboard RAM support specifications?
I "THINK" this is it but I really don't knowattached)

What did Belarc say under Main Circuit Board?

I don't know why you ran Memtest. But since you did, what you look for with Memtest is "No Errors". So assuming you let it complete at least one full pass, then you should be okay.

What about the motherboard/RAM/support issue, please? I have posted everything I could find above. If you need more to advise(Belarc report?) I can post one.

We don't need the whole report so I ask again, what did Belarc say under Main Circuit Board?
What about the motherboard/RAM/support issue, please?
We are trying to help you but you need to provide the requested information.
