Avoid local login after remote desktop session
I am helping a disabled person with her PC using Remote Desktop Connection. Both computers run Win XP Pro. She cannot enter passwords so I have removed password requirements (except for RDC) and her account is used for auto-logon when the computer starts.
When I disconnect she has to enter a password to resume her session. Is there a way to avoid this? Thanks.

Maybe this:
Open Display Properties by right clicking on the Desktop and select Properties.
Click on the Screen Saver tab.
Click the Power button.
Click the Advanced tab.
Uncheck Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby
Click Apply and OK as needed to exit.

Thanks for the reply. I have already tried your suggestion, but for some reason a password is still required after a RDC session. I may have to give up on passwords altogether on this machine (after all, the machine has nothing valuable on it apart from Win XP).

I am not able to find anything that shows a way to eliminate that requirement.
What I can suggest though, is to install a VNC client/server setup like Tight VNC.
You run the server on her PC and the client on yours. Once setup, the server is always running on her computer so you can connect at any time, with no interaction with her at all. You provide a password when you connect and you take over the computer.
She can see what you are doing though.
When you disconnect, that's it. No login required by her.

Logmein is a fairly decent remote desktop but not as good as Microsoft's. I would not advise that remote desktop be enabled on an non password protected system. You may not think that you have something to lose but you do. If nothing else there is identity theft.
