    Windows error from Spyware

I had a spyware trojan virus on my computer and I manually removed all files from system and registry files. My problem is now my windows startup window freezes. I can go into safe mode and safe mode with networking but thats it. Last know configuration does not work. I do not have windows startup disks for the system, I have had the computer for about three or four years now. I tried system restore but the virus cleared it and the program says there is no restore points saved. Even when I disable the system and win files in msconfig, windows still freezes. Any ideas what I can do next would be very helpful.

I have windows xp home edition with service pack 3.

Hi kdljjc welcome to the D-A-L Help Forum

You could try System File Checker (SFC) this check all your system files to ensure none
of your system files have been damaged by the virus and will repair any found.

There's a good tutorial on how to use SFC here: scannow sfc - LEARN how to use SFC.EXE (system file checker)

Read and follow the instructions there.
Please let us know how you go on and if the problem still persists post back.
You will need and XP installation disc for this if you don't have one. A loan from family or
a friend will do just as well.

    Install a good anti-spyware.
