Stuck at BIOS Screen
Hello, new user =D. Okay, well when i start up my computer it will get to the BIOS screen, then it'll tell me all the technical info and whatnot. It will stop at asking me to press F1 to open up Setup. I have tried entering Setup, but my computer will not respond. I've tried numerous times to restart and try to enter Setup. If you could help, it would be greatly appreciated =)
Okay here is the specs. PC chips A31g Motherboard, 2 gigs of DDR RAM, and i'm using an AMD Athlon 64 processor.

Also try pressing F1 as soon as any information is displayed on the screen, rather than wait for it to prompt you to do so. Press it every second or so and see if that gets you into setup.

I tried pressing F1 as soon as information popped up, it still wont go into setup or past it asking me to press F1.

What kind of keyboard do you have? Is it USB or PS2? If USB, do you have access to a PS2 keyboard you could connect for a while? I'm wondering if the USB keyboard is not being recognized at that point in the boot process. I've seen this happen on other computers.

I'm using a USB keyboard. Its never had any problems, but when i turn on my computer i dont see any lights indicating caps lock or number pad. I tried re-plugging it, still no response. My keyboard is a bit old though :P, do you think i should replace it?

Borrow a PS2 keyboard if your computer has a PS2 keyboard port and try that. If it works, then yes, I'd say get a new keyboard.

Well i fixed it. I guess i put my keyboard into the mouse plugin
whoops.
Thank you for your help though!

There is no mouse or keyboard port when you use USB. Any one should work for either. Sounds like just moving it to a different port helped though and that's all that counts.
Glad it's working for you now.
Happy New Year
