hi i have 2 hard drives one 80g used mainly for xp c drive and i think the drive is on the way out some strange things happen the second drive is 120g and i formated it it is empty 2 60g can i shift xp to one of those drives thank for any help barryh

We could use more info about your computer and your hard drives. Also, what strange things have been happening? What ever it is it isn't necessarily hard drive related. Basically answer the questions below as completely as possible.

hi i was told by a repairer that a drive was playing up and causing the problems the computer freezes at any time and then it may for no reason shut down then i have troubles rebooting i thought if it was the xp drive to take xp out of it into the other drive would fix it i had the computer build 3 years ago and insisted that there was 2 hard drives whitch i hope that is the case thanks barryh

You would need to reinstall XP from the original CD in order to do this.
You can test your hard drive via the manufacturers web site.
If you do not know the manufacturer then right click My Computer and then click Manage then Device Manager then Disk Drives click the + to expand.

You could clone the old drive to the first partition on the 120GB drive, then remove the old drive and make the 120GB drive master. That should make the first partition on the 120GB drive C: and it should boot with no problem.
You can use the free HDClone to do this.
