I have a HP computer running XP Pro with service pack 3.

You can also go to- My Computer

- Set System Restore to 1% (Approx 1095MB) using the slider shown
- Ok your way out

The "Help and Support" and "System Restore" are both set on "automatic" and "started".
I was unable to make any changes using your second suggestions.

I went to each link and did not see anything that would be of any help.
Most of the information pertained to fixing system restore.
My problem is I can not access "Help & Support" or "System Restore". It is like they are not included in the operating system.
-
Please tell me step by step how you are attempting to access each program?

I click on "Start" then "Help & Support" nothing happens.
I click on "Start" then "Control Panel" then "System" icon and then "System Restore" Tab. Window opens but unable to access any of the functions.
I click on "Start" then right click "My Computer" then " Properties" then "System Restore" tab.
Window opens but unable to access any of the functions.

Help me to help you
Please view this link and run sfc scannow. This will take some time and you will need your OS CD so any corrupt or missing .dll files can be restored during the scan. Please report back with the result.
There will be no report at the end if all is well, so reboot your computer before you post back.
kind regards

That fixed the problem. Sorry to be so late getting back with the results.
A medical condition forced me to go to a hospital.

Thank you for posting back with your success.
I hope you are well now, sorry to read you have been in hospital...
