Could you please give more details
    What characters do you mean?

Have you tried using system restore to a time just before using regseeker
If possible to a time just before you installed regseeker.

Why are you playing with registry?
    Now, you have results.

I know some of my colleagues like regseeker but I think it is way too aggressive. Results such as you have seen are not uncommon.

Regseeker does have an option to backup before making changes, did you? If so, you MIGHT be able to run it again, and click on backup and restore the changes.

Open RegSeeker. Backups are enabled by default. Once in Regseeker, click on Backups. There you should find all changes etc. Click on them one by one, and you should "go back" on all your changes.

Personally I don't trust registry boosters, optimizers, cleaners, etc. because if they mess up the wrong part of it you are screwed.

Anytime you raise issues with a Registry Cleaner you will receive diverse opinions.

As to mine: RegSeeker is a great freeware cleaner and I have used it for years and recommend it and encourage regular registry cleaning.

As noted it creates a backup whenever you use it.

For further backups use ERUNT and NTREGOPT

In this particular case if you cannot find the backup use System Restore.

Yeah, I use a couple registry cleaners regularly but I think that is the key, I use them "regularly". But I NEVER use them to "fix", "boost, or "optimize" anything - that is just marketing hype, and asking for trouble if that is your goal.

I use them after major OS and software upgrades. After hardware adds, removes, or changes. After uninstalling software.

    The main point here is...
If you want to touch the registry, you better know what you're doing.

The first rule when doing anything that as the potential for causing your PC harm.
Is Back It Up. Even if you only create a System Restore point.

The import export tool on the registry is probably the easiest backup tool on the PC
So if whether your using a reg optimizer or a editing the registry back it up.
It takes next to no time do and almost nothing in disk space usage.

My own opinion is similar to Digerati's. I've used a number of reg cleaners none have
ever cause me a problem. I use the one that comes with CCleaner at the moment.
But I always do a backup.
