I have a Compaq Presario V2000 laptop that got a virus and my daughter (who didn't know what she was doing :0( ...) wiped the harddrive clean and then installed the Windows XP OS that came with my Dell desktop (for Dell only). Now, the color is distorted and the page is too big for the laptop screen (it cuts off at the edges). Also, there is no sound. Is there anything that I can do to fix this, other than purchase another Windoes XP OS (which I can't afford :0( and install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a BLESSED DAY.

You need to load the Compaq drivers.

Select software and drivers Compaq Presario V2000 CTO Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

You need at least Audio and Graphics. If you have other issues try the rest of the drivers listed.
