There are many good virus free freeware programs.
What program are you referring to?
With all freeware programs comes the addage "Let the buyer beware" because there are some that could be badly written and others that could contain a virus. So caution is always advised in these areas.

We are not going to help you bypass your brother's wishes. That would wrong of us, just as it is wrong of you to try - especially if that computer is used for more than just entertainment. You need to save your own money and get your own computer, or play by his rules.

As Jim stated, there are many good free programs out there - but all malware is free too, at least initially. After that, it can be very damaging, and expensive.
