The error code is 7

Well it sounds like you're booting from the CD.

Is the CD in good shape? Try cleaning it. Wipe it with a soft, lint free clothe, from the center out to the edge. NOT in a circular motion. You could also try blowing into your CD drive (while the tray is open of course) to blow out any dust that may have accumulated inside.

Let the CD proceed to install Winows as normal.

When the installation gets to the point of where to install, it will probably suggest C:\Windows.000.

Change it to C:\Windows, and let it install. All of your data should remain intact. Windows Updates and possibly some programs will have to be reinstalled as well.
