    Can you start in Safe Mode and try the above suggested solutions?

    Well, if there are things that you want on the Windows hard disk, you may have to remove the drive, put it in a working machine, and copy the files to a CD-RW (or two, or three, etc) and reload Windows on a clean (formatted) partition.

    Well,is there any way to solve the problem because getting out the hard disk seems complicated to a nerd like me.And i still have to put it in a working computer,which is 'mission impossible'.

    Well, I solicited other Members input, and it's basically the same as mine;

    From jephree, another Moderator;

    Don't know what to add to your last post Dan.

    If he cannot slave the drive in another computer nor afford to take it to a shop he needs to bite the bullet and Clean Install.

    This may also just be a gamble as his symptoms could very well be a hardware issue.

    I'd suggest he find a local shop if he cannot risk losing data nor experimenting with the hardware himself.

    You might see if he can boot Ubuntu. If Ubuntu fails to load I'd be fairly sure it is bad hardware.

    Try booting a Linux "Live" CD like Puppy Linux. See if you can access your CD/DVD drive and/or USB devices that way. If yes then you can backup your data then do a Clean Install.

    See this post by Happyrck on GeeksToGo for Puppy Linux:

    Get the latest version available as the one he recommends is no longer easy to find.

    If you have precious files, why have you not been backing them up all along?

    Once you get this resolved, take the time to setup a good backup strategy so when (not if) this happens in the future it won't be so traumatic and recovery is just 30 minutes or less away.

    Good luck. Please let us know how you make out.
