i dont have a usb cd drive but i have a usb hard drive and flash drive that are capable of fitting the OS software. Can it be done?

Just to add to jeph's post...I installed WinXP SP2 on a Dell Mini 9 Netbook, that did not have a CD\DVD-ROM, using a USB Memory Stick.

Hey Rich...Glad you like it. A couple weeks ago I used UNetbootin and installed Ubuntu Eee 8.04 Netbook Remix on a EeePC that my sister gave me. The original OS was pooched and she didn't want it anymore...Worked great.
