What is the exact make and model of the motherboard and or the computer if manufactured?

Also just to expand on my previous post the Intel chip you ID is a very widely used chip.

To get the drivers for it the best source is the computer or motherboard manufacturer.

Unless it happens to be an Intel motherboard Intel would not be a source to seek.

Neither would third party driver scanners/spammers.

XP, Vista and Windows 7 all support the AC'97 audio chip without need for additional drivers. Perhaps you have a hardware problem?

Did it ever work? Are you upgrading or downgrading your operating system?
