I have XP, in outlook express I have lost my address book all it says is unable to open the address book or it may not be installed properly I also can not create any emails all it says when i try to create one is there was an error unable to open this message.

I can recive mail only & use explorer with no problems

Please any help would be great but, please keep it in simply terms

If this is a new problem you could try a System Restore to a point prior to your problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Otherwise:

There are a few OE Repair programs out there but for a price.

The basic Windows repair is try SFC /scannow and if that fails reinstall the latest version of IE which will contain OE.

You could also try a manual search if you want to try and recovery old data.

Go to start > Search > All files and folders > (also check show system files)

Then search for both these extensions:

.dbx

&

.wab
