been having problems adjusting screen resolution on my daughters packard bell easynote laptop read on some site that the driver might be missing or need updating so went on driver detective which after scanning told me there was various drivers out of date or missing so i downloaded the various drivers and restarted the laptop but now the screen is totally blank the windows start up screen comes on with the moving blue bars then the screen goes blank as if it's about to start up you can hear the windows starting melody in the background but the screen just stays blank can anyone help pleeeeaaaasssseeee !!! update i turned laptop off now when i turn it on it goes to bios screen and asks if a want to start in safe mode or safe with networking or last good config etc but whatever i choose the windows screen comes on for a second or so and then goes back to the bios page if i just leave it it keeps going back to the bios page

Press F8 when you see the manufacturers logo during boot and continue to press it every second or sio until you get the Windows Advanced Options Menu. Select Last know good configuration that worked.
That should get you back to before you updated the drivers. If that works, please look in Device Manager and post what is shown for Display Adapters.
Also post what shows in Display Settings, Display tab for your current resolution.

thanks for reply pressed F8 and got onto advanced options menu but every time i press last known good configuration when it boots up the windows screen comes on for a second and it goes back to the page that says "apologize for the inconvenience windows didnt start sucessfully" and then keeps trying to re boot but goes back to that same page

Try pressing F8 for that menu then boot into "VGA Mode".
If it works, change the resolution to something your monitor can support.
