iv have just put my pc in a new case and when i finished it turns on nothing comes up on the moneter and that has been checked and the fans start also on the floppy disk drive the light stayes on and the hard drive apperes to not be working but when only left with the power cable in the back it works
Is your hard drive SATA, and have you checked the power supply to the drive. You should have 2 connections one from the PSU to the hard drive and one from the hard drive to the mother board. Ensure that the conections from the PSU to the HD are seated properly and that the HD to motherboard connection is at both ends is also seated properly.
Did everything work fine in the old case?
A constant on floppy light is often caused by the data cable being upside down.
evrey thing workd fine in old case and all leades conneced to hd
While observing ESD cautions, you need to pull the motherboard and make sure there are no extra standoffs under the board. Understand that cases are designed to support 1000s of motherboards. Also understand the ATX Form Factor standard only states that mounting points must be in specifications IF used. This means there are usually more mounting holes in the case than motherboard and it is very easy, and a common mistake, to use more standoffs than the motherboard supports, causing the extra standoff under the board to electrically short circuit the motherboard. So pull your board and very carefully inspect and verify standoffs in the case and mounting holes in the motherboard match, one for one, with no extras. Check page 2-4 of your manual.
Also, maker sure you connect the 8-pin EATX12V connector as shown on page 2-32.
all standoffs are in correct place also it only has a 4 pin not 8 pin conecter
the hard drive now powers up but still nothing on moniter
What only has 4? Note this is not the 4-pin often found with 20-pin supplies, but an additional 8-pin, which your motherboard requires, according to your manual.it only has a 4 pin not 8 pin conecter
thiar is no 8 pin conecter onley a 4 pin that comes of the power
So you are telling us that section 2.8.2, Item 11 on page 2-32 of your manual is wrong and your motherboard does NOT have an 8-pin EATX 12V power connector in the upper left edge of the motherboard. Is that right?
