    svhost error

when closing my winXP operating computer I receive an error under "svhost.exe" header saying
<The instruction at "0x73d22sbd" referenced...> and so on.
I MUST then click on "cancel" in order to shut down the computer. If I do not this immediately the computer doesnt shut at all.

Is there some way to repair this?
I checked with Malaware, and the machine is clean.
Ccleaner doesn't find any issues in the registry, but some reg checking program found over 1000!! registry problems!!

    Please advise
    thanks

Is your PC fully up to date with all service packs installed?

I would ignore the registry programs that find 1000s of errors.
They are most probably false positives in an effort to get you to purchase them.
CCleaner has a decent reg cleaner tool and if it finds no issue
    I would think its OK

This can be caused by virus/malware that's why I ask if you have all
your XP service packs and security updates

    Is it svhost.exe or svchost.exe?

If svhost.exe, then you have some kind of malware on your computer. Go to the Malware Forum and follow directions in the Sticky: Read This First - IMPORTANT Instructions post.
