I have Windows XP, and print with HP OfficeJet 5610. It loads automatically every time I boot up, but loading takes ages. I only use the printer occasionally. How can I get it to load only when I want it? Thanks

The easiest way would be to put it on a separate power strip and leave it powered off until you want to use it.

Thanks, but that's no good. It still loads, but also loads a message telling me that the thing is switched off. This takes even longer.

Go to;

C:\Documents and Settings\**YOUR USER_NAME**\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

and if it's listed, delete it.
