I am running XP Home and I have a cd device showing up in the device manager. I have tried deleting it but it reappears.

"As I understand it the NERO IMAGEDRIVE2 SCSI CdRom Device is a Virtual Drive that was copied to the hard drive from a CD image (an ISO)."

"Can you find this on your hard drive & try to delete it?"

I read this answer on another forum but I do not know what to look for on the hard drive.

I do have two SCSI hard drives. One is for the system and the other is for storage.

Is this causing any problems?

The computer has various problems but I can not say that this is the source of any of the problems.

If something is not right it is always a suspect.

What are the problems?

This is a "fake" dvd drive created by nero. What version nero do you have?

The problems :
1. Unable to do a backup using the Nero Backup software.
2. Unable to do a restore using restore points prior to the
drive's appearance.

I am using Nero 9 software.

I'm not familiar with 9 but there should be some way to disable it.
