    HDMI Problem

Have recently built a gaming PC, With ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus MoBo, Intel Core 2 Duo 8200 CPU, 2X SATA HDD, Windows XP + SP2 Pro, 2 x BFG nVidia 8800GT graphics cards in a Sli configuration. Everything works fine except the 26" flat screen monitor in HD mode. It works fine using VGA connections but using a DVI / HDMI cable I get a " No HDMI signal " on the monitor. Everything else works fine. I have downloaded the latest drivers from BFG but still no improvement. Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks Davida.

    Welcome David,

I have a very similar system. Some things to test & try:

When you get the No HDMI can you tell that otherwise the system booted OK? Is there an LED read on the motherboard?

Have you tried at this point to use the reset button?

If the above does not help: try removing the SLi bridge and see if it works differently.

Thanks Jephree, have tried what you suggested to no avail. The Monitor has 3 inputs, VGA,DVI and HDMI, it works ok through VGA and DVI but not through HDMI although when computer is first switched on I have vision in HD, the MoBo logo and widows start up, after the Windows tune plays the screen goes blank and reports " No HDMI Signal input "

Did you install a specific HDMI driver for your motherboard?

No, I didn't think it was needed as the GFX card user manual stated I can connect to HDMI from the GFX's DVI.
    Now I'm learning.

Do you have such a driver on your CD?

Nvidia Chipset driver program, SoundMAX Audio Driver and USB 2.0 Driver are the only drivers on the CD.
I will check ASUS website for any HDMI drivers and will get back to you.
Thanks for advice so far, you're a diamond.

Have searched ASUS and BFG Tech websites for possible HDMI driver download but didn't find any. My 26" Monitor shows good visuals which I'm happy about, I play mainly Flight Sims and Call of Duty 4 and the graphics are very good, I just wanted to get better graphics than my Grandsons who use an Upgraded PS3 on a 42" HDTV. Will settle for what I have unless you have any ideas.
    Once again many thanks. DavidA

On further review the only HDMI drivers that should be required would be audio drivers.

Do you have the latest graphics drivers from NVIDIA?

Do you have your SLi enabled?

Do you have all Windows Updates?

Hi Jephree, I have checked and downloaded the latest drivers from BFG's web site, I now have the latest version.
On reading the GFX installation manual, there is a section on HDTV connections, I have the connectors that came with GFX card but need component extensions to connect to monitor. I hope to purchase these next week sometime. Will let you know how I get on.
    Watch this space. Regards DavidA
