Hi i acidently loaded another windows xp on my computor, i not very computor savey so can anyone tell me how i can delete the second copy of xp i added on. When i boot or restart windows it ask me which xp i want too use i no which is the right one but want to delete the other one. Thanks bob

If the copy of Windows you wish to use is stable then you can edit the Boot.ini file to automatically load the option you want.

Edit the Boot.ini File
To view and edit the Boot.ini file:


From Control Panel, start the Performance and Maintenance tool, and then click System. On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
Under System Startup, click Edit.

You can copy/paste the detail here if you need help editing this (just be careful what you edit !

Hi thanks for you help, i did delete the one in boot that i did not need. Now when i boot up it comes up windows XP home edition which is one i want an choose and has A(window default) also thats the one i loaded on by mistake and takes me to another windows xp which i have nothing on. In the boot notepad since in deleted the second windows xp it now has (operatiing system) then below that multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\windows="micro softwindowsxp home" i tryed changeing the 2 too 1 then it boots too the one i do not want too keep on computor.
