my daughter has been using a compaq laptop. It recently developed a problem where any file being opened, was being opened by Media player, if i want to open anything i have to select what i want to open it with. I have just re-installed Xp and the problem persists. May be easy for you guys but it's ball busting for me. Help please

With a re-install, strange indeed. Was it a "clean install"? (ie; Delete partition, re-create partition/format)

Thanks, i will try another re-install, it is a genuine copy, i did however install it over the old. Will let you know the result.
