Hi all,
Every morning when I boot up I get this error box that says:
DevDtct2.exe - unable to locate component
"this application failed to start because OdiAPI.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this"
Any ideas? I don't have the faintest what app it is referring to.
Thanks,
radio
Hello,
Here is some info about the file.
* "Device Detector 2" is not required to run at start up. Installed by various Olympus products, this program detects the active connection of a speech device (voice recorder, etc) to a USB port then runs specific client software used to access that device. The DevDtct2 process has a "high" priority level which can negatively impact system resources.
Have a read at this link -

That should give you a better idea of what program it is. You might try re-installing the app.

Thanks for the info Ray! Where can I find the programs that are assigned to start at boot up? It said I could disable the program from loading at start-up.
thanks,
Ross
Hello,
The best start up manager I've found to date is autoruns.exe from Microsoft. Get it here -
