    Welcome to techhelpforum.

    Is your audio working normally other than this issue?

    Even if it is, please verify all of the following;

    Open Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices. On the Volume tab, ensure Mute is not checked.

    Click the Audio tab. Is your sound device listed in the Sound playback box?

    Click the Voice tab. Is your sound device listed in the Voice playback box?

    Go back to the Volume tab. Under Device volume click on Advanced. In the Play Control window that opens, click Options in the menu bar. Click Properties. Is your sound device listed under Mixer device?

    In the lower half of the window, put a check mark in Auxiliary, and any other boxes which may be connected/associated with your video player.

    Post back with your results and any further questions.

    Describe the source files. Where did you get them? Did you create them yourself, or were they downloaded from the net?

    Did you do the above?

    What is the file extension of the source (original) files? (ie; .avi, .wmv, .mpg, .mpeg, etc, etc.)

    As far as codecs go, these are supposed to be of the type that "works for all players" etc. I've used the Klm and it works for any players I use.

    The Vista codecs supposedly works on XP.

    If you use DivX.

    To answer your question

    The video format is avi and mpg and it has been working ok until I have been getting security messages about a hijacker on my computer and I think I have some virus that will not let me finish my virus scan and it keeps saying a am running a error when it is almost finish scanning and it disconnects my live protection. I am using Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0. I dont know what to do. I may just take it to the shop. I even tried the restore and still no change.
