Internet explorer problem for windows xp
I recently installed the Windows Updates that kept bugging me to install them and since then my Internet stopped working. I just get a "Cannot display page" error as if it were offline. But the internet connection's fine and all programs work perfectly...unless they need the internet (for example IE, Yahoo Messenger, iTunes store don't work) I'm guessing the new updates changed the connection settings?!
I don't know how to set it back, or enable it manually...can anyone help please? it's just the Internet that's not working.
Is this normal to happen? What can I do?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to techhelpforum.
Can you do a System Restore back to a point before the updates install?
Or, first turn off Automatic Updates, and do a restart. Then open Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Put a checkmark in the box for "Show Updates". Remove updates one at a time until you get internet access back. Look for updates pertaining to internet or internet programs ie; IExplore, icwconn*, msicw.* etc.
