If I disabled all my start up programs would I see a quicker start up or would I have a problem with this action, and if I remove all the ticks from the startup window can I replace the ticks back to restore them.

Generally, the less (programs) that run at system startup, the faster the startup completion. (Keep in mind that drivers loading are a portion of the startup time.)

Yes. However, you should leave anything which has to do with Anti-Virus, Firewall, and video display.
