No Sounds

    Question No Sounds

    I suddenly have no sound, from any source. System sounds, media player, streaming videos - none of them play sound.

    I have an eMachines T2895 (with Win XP Home), and downloaded the latest driver recommended on the eMachines website (RealTek AC'97). After I update the driver all sounds works fine - until I reboot. Once I reboot, no sound.

    I tried rolling back to the old driver, and sound worked again - until I rebooted.

    After all this, I've learned that changing the driver gets sound working again, but something is killing it when I boot up.

    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Welcome to techhelpforum.

    Is this the audio driver you're using;

    What is the version of your bios? See anything like 5.0.2.1002? <- This is a bios (driver) update.
