I got a hold of a Dell computer and want to reformat the hard drive. It runs with XPPro, the problem is it won't let me reformat.It boots up and asks for a password.Is there any way to get past this?

Hi, does it boot to the XP password or does it stop as soon as you turn it on and request a password?

If you have the XP Operating System disk, then put it in the CDRom, boot up, and away it should go.

It gets past the windows boot but before you get to the windows log on ,there's another small window that comes up asking for a password which I think is an Administrator password.Unless I reset this password or get rid of it altogether I can not go any further.
