problem with flash
Hi, I'm running WinXP SP2, and IE7. Everytime I try to watch a movie on Youtube, the movie plays for about two seconds, then shuts down internet explorer. It tells me the addon that caused the problem was flash9e.ocx. Then another window pops up and says that internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling flash player. I've tried previous versions of flash back to ver 5. I've tried updating IE7. I've tried firefox, and avant browsers. I've tried everythiing I can think of. There doesn't seem to be any problems with most flash games or videos. It's only some sites with videos. This is really frustrating me and I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you.

Did you try to uninstall Internet Explorer and then install it again? Once you have done that, try installing all flash components and plugins needed again. Also check configuration and internet options, maybe it works.
It happened to me once, and doing what I have just told you this problem was fixed.

I uninstalled flash, then reinstalled IE7. Then reinstalled Java and flash. I looked at my internet options, but everything looked good to me. The only plugins I need are Java and Flash right? I just think its wierd, that only some flash movies are crashing IE.

I just went on to Youtube.com and when I clicked on a video to play, I quickly paused it before it started. Then right clicked and turned the quality to low, and then the video played all the way through. When I tried to bump it up to medium, it gave me the same message and crashed IE. Anyone know what the heck is going on?

Well, I did a little more research and apparently there is a lot of this same problem going on. There is some kind of conflict between IE and Flash that is affecting a great deal of people. Microsoft and Adobe don't look to be doing very much to try to resolve this. There is a forum on Adobe's website confronting this problem, that is about a year old.
