i didnt make a back up of my preloaded windows xp disc stupid i know but like most men didnt read the complete book of instructions and now the computer crashed losing everything. Computer just out of warranty have the registration code attached to the computer to verify autneticity etc any ideas as to avoid purchasing another operating system

If you have the code and you know someone with the XP cd that should work to reinstall the OS. It won't have all the computer makers little extras but it will at least get you XP back on your computer.

What is the machine doing? Or not doing?

Any video output at all?

If so, can you boot into Safe Mode?

Can you boot with any other bootable media? (Floppy or CD.)

How do you know everything is lost?
