Windows XP, smss.exe error on bootup?
I get the following error on boot up: The “C:\WINDOWS\web\smss.exe” application cannot be run in Win32 mode.
If I delete this file I get the following error on boot up: Windows cannot find “C:\WINDOWS\web\smss.exe” Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file , click the start button, and then click search.
Any one have any suggestions as how I can get rid of this problem on boot up?
Thanks

Smss.exe should be in the \System32 folder, not the "Web" folder. You may have picked up a trojan;
