Alrite here goes another of the weird problems I face every now and then!

As the computer administrator, I had protected my work and data from the other user on my computer. This folder is located on the Drive D: that does not have the OS.
Unfortunately, A virus infected my PC the other day so I had to format my C: drive and reinstall the OS. After doing that, I accessed my folder in the D drive. Well I can list all the files and folders BUT I cant execute them. Txt files, Doc Files, Jpegs etc all of the say "Access is denied" whenever I double click on'em.

As far as I know, If the user accounts are deleted, the permissions don't stand. Maybe I'm wrong. ENLIGHTEN ME please.
One more thing... the data was encrypted when it was created. I can't decrypt it by changing its properties either. "Access is denied"!!! ...

So how am I supposed to retrieve my data????
there has to be a way!

And yes if encryption is the actual problem.. then how do i recover my data. I'm learning abt certificates and making myself a data recovery agent. Any pointers on that... I'm still cant access the data.
