Getting error when trying to download a zipped file.

Hello everyone. Just registered today, and I'm hoping someone can help me. I have searched everywhere on the net for the answer to my question, and to no avail, no luck!

I know my problem is very simple to fix, but can't figure it out for myself.

My problem is I am experimenting with PSP, (Paint Shop Pro) which I am really having a blast with the program. Am learning something new everyday, because I do alot of reading up on the program.

Well my problem is, I am trying to build up my tube collection. Which I was very successful in doing at the beginning. Now, my pc is giving me an error when I try and download the zipped file.

Error says: Cocuments and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\name of zipped file.zip
    Paint cannot read this file.
This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported.

So that is the thing I know I have to change. But do not know how. What must I do to get these tubes to save to the PSP program?

I do not know any easier way to explain this problem, but if I'm not being specific enough, please e-mail me.

The problem is not with PSP, it's with the way the downloaded file is trying to be saved. I need to change this path, and don't know how.

Okay, thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi CindyKaye and welcome to Tech Help Forum. I think you should start over, but first, delete your temporary files to ensure there is nothing corrupted in there. You can do this through your tools menu in your browser, or use CCleaner, a great disk cleaning program that is excellent at cleaning the system of 1000s of temporary files, including all history, old logs, and cache files. During installation, uncheck the option to install the Yahoo toolbar. Before first use, go to Options > Settings > Advanced and ensure Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours is unchecked. To delete all "tracking" cookies, (which I urge you do), you must delete all cookies, so ensure the Cookies setting remains checked. Ensure you know your site credentials (user name and password) for sites you frequent; you will have to login again at next visit. Another good cleaner is ATF Cleaner.

Then download your zip file again - I recommend you do NOT open the file from the website. Rather download it, scan it, then open it. You should be able to designate exactly where you want it saved. Then, even if it came from a trusted source, you should scan the downloaded file for malware. If clean, then you should be able to unzip and use the file.
