Question
I get a windows installer every time I try to connect or go into any web page other than the one I am on. Why? I have wondowsXP I UN-installed office Windows2003 because it would not allow me to get into my e-mail. I thought if I did system restore to an earlier date, that would solve my problem, but it didn't! Even when I shut down my system and reconnect, the same Ole installers shows up and I have to wait for the pages to be installed. What do I do now?

I've moved your post from the Win98 forum as you're running XP.
First download/install the latest Windows Installer;
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Secondly, visit your browsers site and ensure you have any updates or versions you may want.
Post back with your results or further questions.

I did the downloads you suggested but it didn't make any difference.
I thought if I shut the system down and then started it again, that would help but it takes forever for it to reinstall. In fact I keep getting the 'windows installer' box anytime I click on a link.

Either something (web related; browser, anti-virus, firewall, etc) has an incomplete install, or you have picked up a "baddie" somewhere along the line. Try the Windows Installer Clean-Up utility;
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us
If you still get the installer errors after running the cleanup utility, follow the instructions here> HiJackThis prerequisites,
and then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs Forum.
