Howdy,

I'm helping someone with windows xp on there laptop. When I right click the hard drives or USB drives the open and explore are showing unknown characters. When you select them they seem to work.
This is the second one I seen this month like this. The virus scan doesn't show anything. So I think its just a billy gates thing.
Any ideas? thanks

Try this:

Go to Start/Run and type in:

regsvr32 /i shell32

Click OK.

Restart your computer.
