In my computer, Computer name. Change, member of domain was checken. I chose workgroup and typed in Workgroup. A signin screen came up and I hit enter without entering a password. When I rebooted the windows signon screen came up, but the old user name and password would not work. Entering no pass word does not work either. Any help out there would apreciated.

What was your goal in the first place?

Changing the Computer Name under Workgroup only affects how the computer is defined and detected on a network or domain.

There are only two legitimate ways of accessing your built-in Administrator account if you need to edit users and passwords:

1) XP Home: boot into Safe Mode then login to the Administrator account.

2) XP Pro: click Ctrl Alt Delete while on the login screen and then choose the Administrator account.

I am on another network/ domain and could not get to my home network.

Are you able to use the computer in question?

No I can't get on. It will not take my user name and password.

I got that. I am not the administrator and they will not give a pass word. They require that I send in my computer which is a big hassle.
