So last night I was looking at some stuff i shouldnt have been which i regret(nevermind that)
and my symantec detected a trojan.exploit.131 virus. And i got really worried and i turned off my computer and went to bed.My pc worked fine still by theway.
I woke up today, and i decided to do a system restore, because i thought it would fix the virus. But it didnt, i came back to todays date in my system restore, and when i came back some stuff was ruined. Like cineplayer, dvd burner stuff, etc... Those arent important, as i can install them again. My pc wouldnt let me uninstall a video game i had.
But my internet explorer didnt work. It opens up to my home page yahoo, and it freezes. It just stops. i cant do anything. So i couldnt even access the internet. I'm using my documents to use the internet right now. I installed AVG antispy to destroy this trojan, which it didnt find. now my auto update thing keeps saying that i need to update this:

Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB936181)

It says its important so i try to update it, and it keeps failing. When i shut off my computer it says that its gonna update things when it shuts down. But it says it everytime. so i dont even think that it is updating it.

So overall, some things are wrong with this computer now. But i dont think the problem is the trojan. Because before i system restored my computer, things worked fine, but now, things are messed up.
Does anyone please know how to fix this, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee

Try an earlier date on System Restore.

If that doesn't help what is the exact make and model of the computer?

Well i restored it to 2 months ago, and i brought it back. Thats when the problems happened.

If i take it back could it get fixed?

The model is Dimension E521, dell

Why 2 months?

First off choose UNDO last Restore.

Then try the last point prior to your problem.

Because 2 months was the day before the first virus was found on this computer.

Let me explain this clearer. I already did undo it.
I did a system restore when i woke up(2 months). Then the virus wasnt fixed, and i undid it and came back to this day. So if i undo it again, that would undo my last undo, which would take me back to 2 months ago.

Try restoring to the most recent restore point.

Otherwise try repairing through Dell:

I went ahead and did what u said about undoing the restore date, and it workssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now the only thing that doesnt work is the cineplayer, dvd burner, etc... stuff.
But i'll get the cd's from dell and get them installed.
